SHIFTER COMMUNITY
In 2020, we launched SHIFTERCOM with a simple yet powerful mission: to unite the global community of architecture and interior photographers. Recognizing the niche nature of our industry and the geographic dispersion of its practitioners, we saw an opportunity to break down barriers and foster collaboration where once there was isolation.
Historically, the field had been plagued by a culture of secrecy, with veteran photographers hoarding their knowledge on pricing, licensing, and workflows. Determined to disrupt this paradigm, we set out to create a platform where knowledge could be freely shared and collective growth could flourish.
Our journey began with behind-the-scenes glimpses into the practices of fellow photographers, providing invaluable insights into equipment, techniques, and creative processes. As the community embraced this spirit of openness, our platform evolved to encompass discussions on industry news, interactive Q&A sessions, and live interviews with leading figures in architecture and interior photography.
Two years later, buoyed by the overwhelming support of our members, we expanded our reach with meetups held in key cities such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Boston, and New York. These gatherings not only facilitated networking and camaraderie but also laid the groundwork for something truly monumental.
In 2024, we proudly hosted the inaugural Shifter Summit in Nashville—a landmark event that brought together top photographers specializing in architecture, interiors, commercial projects, and hospitality. With 120 passionate attendees, the Summit exceeded all expectations, captivating participants with inspiring speakers, a breathtaking venue, and an atmosphere charged with creativity and innovation.
The resounding success of the Summit has left us humbled and invigorated, with countless requests pouring in for a sequel. While we are thrilled by the prospect of future gatherings, we recognize the immense effort and dedication required to deliver an experience of equal caliber. As such, we have decided to postpone the next Shifter Summit until 2026, ensuring that we have ample time to pour our hearts and souls into crafting an event that will once again redefine the standard for excellence in our industry.
In addition to fostering community engagement, we have been committed to equipping our members with valuable resources to enhance their skills and expand their professional horizons.
In 2023, we took a significant step forward by introducing website templates tailored specifically for architecture, interior, and real estate photographers. These templates not only streamline the process of creating visually stunning and user-friendly websites but also provide a platform for photographers to showcase their work effectively to potential clients.
Recognizing the importance of digital presence, we also launched a comprehensive SEO course designed to empower photographers with the knowledge and tools to optimize their online visibility and attract more traffic to their websites. This course serves as a valuable resource for navigating the intricacies of search engine algorithms and leveraging them to grow one's photography business.
Building on this success, we are excited to announce our latest offering in 2024: an architecture video course led by Arturo. This course promises to be a game-changer, equipping participants with the skills and techniques needed to excel in capturing architectural masterpieces through the dynamic medium of video.
With these initiatives, we continue to reaffirm our commitment to empowering the architecture and interior photography community with the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving industry landscape.
