At SUSHISAMBA Los Angeles, Millboard’s boards were photographed as part of a lively rooftop setting, where material and architecture work together. The restaurant’s open-air, multi-level design brings together flowing forms, greenery, and warm finishes, so the images needed to show how Millboard sits naturally within the space while keeping its own texture and character clear. Millboard’s wood-grain surface is designed to echo natural timber, making the detail especially important to capture.

Sunlight was a key consideration throughout the shoot. As it moved across the rooftop, it changed the color, contrast, and visibility of the boards’ surface, while also shaping the mood of the surrounding space. We worked with those shifts in light to show the product clearly and in context, capturing how Millboard complements SUSHISAMBA’s distinctive setting from bright daytime conditions into a warmer, more atmospheric feel.
