HOSPITALITY
ROYAL SONESTA
Puerto Rico
Set on Isla Verde Beach, Royal Sonesta San Juan is closely connected to the Atlantic coastline. Video was a newer format for the hotel’s marketing, and a member of the team saw an opportunity to bring the property to life through motion.

ABOUT
We worked with the hotel to create a film that captured its setting and the relationship between the property, the beach, and the ocean. Alongside the main video, the team wanted individual clips they could use to create their own social media reels.

GOALS
The goal was to make the hotel’s sense of place central to the film, showing how its architecture and interiors open onto the surrounding coastline. With no models, the story had to come through the property itself: its spaces, details, natural light, and connection to the ocean.
CHALLENGES
The hotel needed to remain open during filming, so we had to work around the natural flow of guests and activity across the property. The coastal weather also required flexibility, with the schedule planned around changing conditions and opportunities to capture the location at its best.
STRATEGY
We focused on the relationship between the hotel and its setting, filming the architecture, interiors, pool, and beachfront in a way that conveyed the experience of being there. Without models, movement through the spaces, changing light, and views toward the Atlantic helped give the film its sense of life and place.
We also captured individual video files for the hotel’s team to use in their own reels, giving them a set of flexible clips alongside the main film.
OUTCOME
The finished video introduces a new way for the hotel to tell its story, with the Atlantic coast and the property’s setting at the center. The separate clips give the marketing team material they can shape into short-form content of their own.
