We were hired to photograph the renovated lobby at Shutters on the Beach and the newly redesigned Terrazza at Casa del Mar, both part of ETC Hotels' iconic Santa Monica properties.

We were brought on by ETC Hotels to photograph the newly renovated lobby at Shutters on the Beach, as well as Terrazza, the bar and lounge located in their neighboring sister property, Casa del Mar. The primary goal was to highlight the rare, uninterrupted ocean views—something almost no other hotel in Santa Monica can offer.

While we had originally planned for a sunny shoot to do those views justice, the weather had other plans. After a few reschedules, we moved forward on a cloudy day, knowing the hotel needed content. We spent extensive time in post-production carefully retouching the views, frame by frame, to restore the warmth and clarity of a true beach day—so the final images reflect the space as it’s meant to be seen.
